Working Groups
Workshops take the logic of focus groups one step further and enable research with large community groups. Workshop methods work well for community consultation and allow multiple interests to be addressed.
Working Groups targets multiple segments of a local population in a single workshop session, enabling participants to 'break out' into segment-specific working groups. The research effectively delivers several different groups for each single time and location, reducing overall logistical costs while providing high quality research outcomes.
Working Groups method enables organisations to:
- Explore complex issues in depth;
- Understand how attitudes and perceptions are constructed and socialised;
- Target community research at particular groups of interest (for instance, by location or age);
- Test ideas and concepts in 'real time' with residents;
- Take part in a dialogue about issues of interest to residents; and
- Collect sufficient information to be assured of the robustness of the consultation insights.
